Lately, I have not been feeling my “best”. I pride myself in taking very good care of myself….eating well, gettting good exercise, surrounding myself with positive people, working on my own emotional and spiritual health, etc.
But I still have not been feeling my best. One of the major driving forces that brought me to where I am today with my work has been my health. I had serious health issues I dealt with for years after contracting hepatitis in South America when i was 27 years old. I chose to deal with it in a wholistic manner with my diet, herbs, supplements, juicing, exercise etc. I saw many alternative therapists in that part of my life and learned an enormous amount about body, mind, spirit. I have come a long way and have been able to see many of the gifts that those difficult days have given me.
But “life happens”. There are many environmental toxins that challenge us ona daily level. There are emotional issues that work to be released through our physical bodies. And so there are days that no matter how well we care for ourselves we may not “feel our best”.
I still choose to work from a wholistic framework. I look at what is going on for myself emotionally, I drink more water, I get accupuncture and reiki, I take my vitamins, I pay close attention to my diet, I know that SOMETHING is coming up and moving through. Sometimes it only takes a day or two sometimes it takes longer. I don’t like it. But it gives me the time to reflect on what is in front of me. The body is incredibly wise. I have learned that and I continue to try to learn its language. I don’t want to make my body my enemy but to see it as a strong ally in helping me make sense of my life.
I share this with you that you may begin or continue to look at your body as your ally. That there is something important for you to look at in your life if things are not quite right in your body. Find some gentle but powerful support with alternative therapies. Drink more water, rest more, be gentle with yourself. Be ok about taking the time that your body needs to find its equalibrium again. Do some journaling. Have that conversation that you have been avoiding. Clear yourself the best that you can…..
Here’s to our “best” and to when we are NOT “our best”. many blessings and gratitude, melanie

roxy, i am glad that this resonated for you. We live in such a “do” world that it takes a lot to surrender and just “be” with where our body is asking us to be. Your body will be very happy for the loving compassion that you give to it:) blessings and health to you! melanie
