Did you see the movie “Chocolat”? A fabulous movie from 2000 starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche. In the movie when the north winds began to blow, the character of Juliette had to leave where ever she was………along with her daughter. There came a time where she had invested so much of herself that it was difficult to think about following the “winds of change”. She made a conscious choice that forever changed her pattern and changed her life and the life for her daughter……
Today the wind was crazy. It felt like the winds of change…….Changing summer to fall and bringing a feeling of what follows fall.
Wind is clearing and stirring. It moves things, it changes things around. Dead branches fall away. Leaves begin to fall and gather around fences and bushes. Wind can be unsettling. After a big wind, the calm is appreciated.
Where are the winds of change blowing in your own life? Where are you feeling stirred up? Where does your life need clearing? What are the dead branches that are ready to be released? Are you hanging onto something that should be let go?
With the arrival of dark evenings, come more time for reflection and journaling. More time for great conversation with loved ones. Think about these things. Talk about them. Journal about them. As we move into the next season, where do you want/need to put your energy? What feels timely? What feels like it is blowing in or blowing out?
Stay conscious. You do not have to make the same choice you have made in the past. Perhaps the dead branches giving way will make room for something new….
This is something I am going to do more careful thought and reflection on in the next few days. The wind caught my attention today. It was doing serious work. It was saying, “hey, pay attention. There is some change going on here. Are you ready?”
Let me know your thoughts! I will be writing to you next in october! great blessings, melanie

I was feeling swept along by the change in the wind last Thursday, too.
And I LOVE the movie Chocolat. I think I will rent it again, and contemplate its energy…
