Hello everyone! I am back ready to begin my weekly blogs once again! Time was needed elsewhere during the summer months and a break is a good thing. I am looking forward to connecting with each of you and to see what will be revealed in these weekly writings!
I have had a summer of challenges and joys……….this is life, no?
Here is a quote I found and posted on FB a few days back. “Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you React to it, Stay Strong, Be Unstoppable.” Diamond Dallas Page
This is something I have come to realize over the years. Things become a big deal when we make them a big deal. From moment to moment we have a chance to choose how we respond. In the big scheme of life, most of what we encounter day to day is nothing to get bent out of shape about. Even in the “big stuff” it is really, “what is my next step here”.
I still do angst about things but I can circumvent it more quickly. I do believe the bigger lesson is how I respond/react to the “thing” than the “thing” itself. Lessons from Life is how I view it. I want to “graduate” so I don’t need to keep repeating the same course over and over!
Years ago when I was a daily runner I had the opportunity to run occasionally with the coach of the school. One day after running I said,”wow, I am so out of shape. I am so tired”. His response was, “Of course you are tired. You just exerted yourself a great deal. What determines how in shape you are is how quickly you recover.”
I have never forgotten this.
I think it holds true with our emotional reactions/responses as well. When something alarming or uncomfortable happens, how quickly can I realign with a sense of trust and calm?
I feel that September is a renewal as much as January is. Students returning to school or beginning for the first time…….a time of great possibilities. I want to jump on this train as well and to encourage you to do the same.
Reflect on where you spend your time and if it is taking you the direction you want to be travelling. Do you wish you were in better shape? Do you wish you played a musical instrument? Would you like to develop your artistic abilities? Do you want to volunteer more? To take on something new, something in the old has to shift, change or fall away.
This is a great time to begin again. A Return to your deeper desires.
Drop me a comment to let me know your thoughts on this. Take some time to THINK about this.
I am always here to support you on your journey through my classes, workshops, mentorships, private sessions etc.
Much love and glad to be back!! melaniej
