Do you love your life? Do you love your body? Do you love your emotions and thoughts? Do you love your relationships? Do you love what is currently playing out in your life?
I know how many of you would answer……because it is how I would answer:) “Well, I like PARTS of my life.” “I like SOME of my body.” “I enjoy SOME of my emotions and thoughts.” “I love SOME of my relationships.” “I love SOME of what is currently playing our in my life.”
But that was not the question. The question was not “What PART of your life, body etc. do you like?” The question is “DO you love your life, your body, etc.”
A more difficult question for sure.
How could we love the difficult parts? The unattractive parts? The painful parts?
When we shift to realizing THAT is where the greatest learning lies, the greatest gifts lie.
We tend to shy away from the parts of ourselves and our lives that we do not love or even like. And yet THAT is where the gold is hidden. If we can begin to make that shift in our consciousness, we can begin to get excited and begin to LOVE those aspects as we now know that we are indeed on a treasure hunt and that WE will be the winners! And the treasure lies in the dark. The dark of what we have avoided and shunned and turned our gaze away from.
Loving what is. ANYTHING that shows up in our lives is there because there is something to be gained, some lesson to be learned. And there are some very difficult things that show up in people’s lives.
If something is easy, it will be a small lesson, a small insight into our soul. If it is moderately difficult, we will receive a moderate lesson and insight. If something is very difficult, much can be gained………..
To come to this place takes courage. It takes an open and curious mind to be able to look at a situation from many different angles. It requires us to travel where we have not traveled before. It is a road, that given the choice, we would rather NOT take. It takes a great deal of self love and faith in the goodness of life. Life does not always APPEAR to be good.
Loving what is.
What are you pushing away from yourself these days? What don’t you want to look at or feel? What do you not WANT to love?
Start here. Be gentle and compassionate with yourself. “I commit to loving……….” Send love to that which you have NOT loved. Do it every day, several times a day. See what new thoughts come to you with this practice. See what different actions you are inspired to take with this practice.
Life becomes less of a struggle when we can love what is………..I will be doing this practice right along with you.
My love, gratitude and blessings, melanie
