A rather strange time of year this is. Suddenly the stores are packed with shoppers trying the find the “perfect” gift for loved ones. Grocery shelves are emptied of their items as we make our favorite dishes and try some new ones. There is an urgent energy of getting things done and doing our best before the golden hour………everything packed into a few days. A little stressful to say the least. We wonder why we do it.
But then there are the moments. A shared conversation. A beautifully set table. An amazing meal. The look of someones face lit up from the thoughtfulness of a gift. The heart warming connection with family and friends. Christmas opens our hearts.
After all the rush and urgency the aftermeal/after gifts, relaxation. The settling in. The walk in the woods. The sharing of some wine. The lounging in new comfy jammies and slippers. The laughter over a new game. Watching the new movie together.
And we think, “this is great”.
Whatever your holiday looks like, my prayer for myself and for you is to find deep connection with those that we love. May we be filled with gratitude for all that we have. May we hold in our hearts and prayers those that are struggling, those that are far from home. May we have the courage to fully be in our lives. May we remember what is truly important to us and live accordingly. Deepest blessings and love to each of you, Merry Christmas. Melanie
