My fall classes are set in place and students are registering. My classes invite you to look clearly at your life. When you look clearly at your life you will see that some things are working very well for you. In fact, maybe even better than you had realized. You will also find some areas where there needs to be some “clean up” in order to move to the next level.
We are often aware of possible changes that are needed to live a more satisfying life. We say that we “want” to change but find ourselves in the same spot again and again. So do we REALLY want to change?
We often want something to change without things really changing:) Comical but true. We want more peace but don’t want to clean up the relationships in our lives to have more peace. We want to be fit and healthy but we don’t want to change our diet or start an exercise program. We want a better job and more money but we don’t want to go back to school or gain the necessary skills to make that happen.
We often don’t want the change because we know the current life that we have and at some level we are comfortable in it. We may not want to change REALLY because who will we be if we let go of what is and tackle something new?
Change is not usually comfortable in the transition time. Change asks us to grow and develop somewhere that we have not yet grown or developed. Change may cause us to move. Change may cause us to do “the hard thing”. Change CHALLENGES us to the core!
What do you want to change? Where do you feel uncomfortable in your life? What is “asking” to be changed in your life? What will it take of you to commit to change? What kind of support do you need to make these changes?
The darkness has begun to shorten our days. We begin the move into the days of more inner reflection and quiet. The activity of summer is just beginning to slow down a bit. Use this time to ask yourself these questions.
Always be kind and compassionate with yourself. You do not need to do it alone. We are consistently asked to let go of the past and embrace something new within ourselves. It is a constant building up and letting go. It does require courage and strength and trust and committment……..but change keeps us feeling alive and creative, engaged and authentic.
Again, comments are always welcomed. If you need further support, check out my classes this fall on my website or if you want to be put on my e-mail list where i send out notices………
Many blessings on this last day of August! Melanie
