Many of you may have read Don Miguel Ruiz’s book “”The 4 Agreements”. It is a short but powerful read. The first ‘agreement’ is “Be impeccable with your Word”. This implies speaking with integrity and clarity. It implies being clear about what you want to communicate. You are encouraged to avoid using your words to speak against yourself or anyone else. You are encouraged to use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. Our words pave our future.
Our words have such power. Both those that we speak internally and those that we utter forth. Words can be spewed unthinkingly and be like knives thrown into the recipient. Words can be spoken in kindness and loving compassion and can heal a torn heart. Our words have power.
What intention do you carry into your day? What do you hope to communicate to the world?
What do you want to share with the people that you love? When we can sit with these questions and answer them thoughtfully, it will be the framework with which we speak.
Stillness will inform your words. Finding some morning time to be still, to reflect, to turn inward will help you stay more connected with the words that flow from you throughout the day.
Today stay connected to your words. Be mindful with your speech. Use your words to create connection, understanding and compassion both within yourself and with others. Let yourself choose wisely.

Yes- words are very important! Even as simple from “have to” to “get to” can change intention and energy around my conversation and thoughts:) I have made a conscious decision to empower and uplift myself and others to better my surroundings. Words are a great and simple way to do this.

Thank you for this. This is one of the chapters in “The Four Agreements” that I feel I can never read often enough. Your succinct summary of this profound wisdom is excellent.
